What is Rock and Roll Dancing

Rock’n’ Roll is one of the most fun, versatile and easiest dances styles you can learn. Rock ‘n’ Roll, commonly referred to as Jive, hit the streets in the mid 60s after Swing in the 40s. Artists like Bill Hayley and Elvis Presley are still played on jukeboxes and radios across the globe today and are almost necessities at any party. The dance, like the music, is ageless and people of all ages enjoy learning and dancing together. Rock ‘n’ Roll bands play at numerous venues across Sydney every weekend, with dancing available on any Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.

Swingtime Rock ‘n’ Roll teachers have all been a part of the Sydney Rock ‘n’ Roll scene for many years and have numerous competition titles and performances under their belts. So come along to one of the classes below and find out why Rock ‘n’ Roll is here to stay!

We also run and promote many Swing events across Sydney on a regular basis. Check out the Gig Guide now for more details.
